Channeling Meryl Streep
You know what I was thinking last night as I was walking back up to the house from the garden? I was thinking that I could imagine myself doing the same thing many years from now, possibly walking up a dusty path back to the house. I was wearing a t-shirt and capris but also my strawberry apron and flip flops. My hair was up in one of those claw-type clips and I had some strays that escaped the clip. I straightened one of the hoses that was stretched out on the concrete path but as I did so, I took my time. It was as if there was no need to hurry. No need to rush. And the funny thing was that I kind of thought of myself as Meryl Streep in "Bridges of Madison County." Not the way that she had an affair, but the way that life was so simple for her. She had no reason to hurry. She wore those classic dresses (and aprons, right?) and her hair was up a lot of the time. Life should be like that. Simple.
